Policy Unstuck is a weekly interview series that we started in January 2024. At the time of writing, we’ve interviewed over one hundred people for the series. The basic premise of the series is to understand a range of perspectives on how we can collectively both ‘do policy better’ and ‘influence policy better’.

That means speaking to the high level thinkers like philosophers and political scientists, to those making decisions on policy—ministers and officials, to those seeking to influence those decisions from the outside.

We are predominantly a UK-focused newsletter, but you will see guests from around the world (and indeed our subscribers cover the planet).

Policy Unstuck is run by Cast from Clay, a strategy consultancy for nonprofits. We run this series both because we find it fascinating having these discussions, and practically because it informs our advisory work. You can find out more about us, and read our editorial guidelines if of interest.
